What's a Better Time Than
Now To Start an Earthquake in the Fitness World?!?
Dear Friend,
We'd read the regurgitated fitness and health
information and the MSN health reports over and over again.
They were all the same. All flat, nothing concrete.
How was anyone supposed to find out how to start getting into
shape and feeling great everyday?
These "fitness"
articles all talked about the food pyramid, the bench press,
jogging... ways that a robot could get in shape if it was
programmed to not explode after 4 months of the same old workout
every single day.
Well, Annmarie and I had a secret about how
to get in great shape and how to do it quickly, effectively
and have a great time doing it... but we had other jobs, other
commitments and a mortgage... were these things enough to
stop us from letting our secret out to the hundreds of thousands
of people who needed the information we had?
That's when Annmarie and I sat down and had
a little powwow.
After 3 hours of deep discussion, we knew what
we had to do.
I quit my real estate job the next day because
I knew that what I was about to do was a thousand times more
rewarding than buying and selling houses. Annmarie gave her
notice for after the football season.
We were now doing what we really wanted to do--help
people tap into your bottomless tank of energy through fitness
and awareness. What do I mean by that? I mean that our "Lifestyle
Fitness" program was created to give people the tools
to make their lives incredible.
Just a little fitness and
a smile can go a long way!
Our experience was mixed. Annmarie had the medical
experience as an athletic trainer in a PT office and the experience
of working with Division 1 and high school athletes. I had
the unique experience of turning my life around from being
an out of shape hump of flesh to having a positive, motivating
personality. I used to pound beers, now I run marathons!
Together, we knew we could put our program on
paper and take it to the streets to help people one by one.
Changing the false views that have been handed down for generations
and starting a few tremors in the fitness world. And that's
where we are now. Looking to reach more and more people like
you, who know what they want in terms of their fitness, but
haven't achieved it just yet...
Meet Annmarie:
Hi everyone, this is Annmarie, and I wanted
to tell you a little bit about why I'm here to help.
I have worked in conjunction with team physicians,
orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic coaches
and many other health care providers designing multiple injury
prevention and rehabilitation programs for college (Division
1) and high school athletes.
Day in and day out, I've seen many different
people coming through the physical therapy clinic with injuries
for their third or fourth time! Some 30-40% seem to always
come back after 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years.
This is not because the PT didn't help them
heal their injuries--the PT did help these people--it was
because the patients went back to their "normal" lifestyle
which got them hurt in the first place. Which, sadly, is usually
a sedentary existence. No workouts, unhealthy diet. The conditions
that lead to injury while doing pretty mundane things like
taking out the trash or lifting a box.
I want to stop this cycle (sorry PT's but my
goal is to reduce the percentage of people coming back to
you!) by giving people a program that will directly address
their needs and show them how they can stop hurting and feel
great with just a little bit of exercise every day.
I love working with all different types of
people one on one. I've worked with athletes all my life (and
have always been one myself) and so I feel very comfortable
with them as well.
The athlete mentality is remarkable. They visualize
and then create their vision. This is what we want to bring
to those of you who aren't athletes. We want to show you how
to use the techniques athletes use to succeed so you can succeed
with your fitness and health goals!
Meet Kevin:
I'm never afraid to tell anyone how I got to
where I am now (In great shape and health) from where I was.
My story is littered throughout this site, so I'll give you
the condensed version here!
In high school I was a three-sport athlete. I had the letters-I
was a captain of the football and tennis teams my senior year
and I could have gone on to college to play at least one of
those sports. When it was time to go off to school, I made
a decision to pursuer my higher education. The decision to
attend to my studies, because heaven only knows how much time
it would take me to study.
Well as you can imagine, as most go-off-to-school-and-party-your-butt-off
stories go, I did little studying. Nor did I do ANY exercise.
I didn't lift a finger until my junior year, when I started
lifting weights again about 2-3 times a week. I never saw
any results though because I was destroying my body as quickly
as I could build it up with alcohol and frozen pizzas. Do
you think I ever looked the package labels then? Of course
not, I was more concerned about the price of a 30-pack and
when the pizza was going to be delivered!
All the partying began to take a toll on me physically and
mentally. My skin was pale. My energy level was low. In my
second semester of junior year, I scheduled all my classes
to be no earlier than 2:00PM and I still woke up at 1:30PM
to make it just about 5-10 minutes late every time! I was
destroying my body and I needed to do something about it.
Unfortunately it took another 2-3 years before I actually
managed to gain enough leverage on myself to create a radical
change.
About 3 years after I graduated college and deep into a mental
and physical depression, my friends started to loose faith
in me and I found myself alone and confused. At the same time,
a diagnosis of mononucleosis brought me literally to my knees
in agonizing pain. I was so sick, I couldn't sleep for days.
I begged the doctor to prescribe me painkillers just so the
pain in my throat would at least be tolerable. This illness
was a direct result of my neglect from the last 6-7 years.
And it was just enough to get me thinking about how on earth
I had gotten to this point in my life.
It was then, as I was lying in bed-unable to sleep-that I
made a commitment to myself. Not a commitment that I didn't
know if I was going to keep or not-like a New Year's Resolution-but
a commitment that I was so committed to that I would do ANYTHING
to never feel like this again-to never feel like I did not
have enough time and energy to do the things I really wanted
to do! I told myself that I was going to take control of my
life and I would do whatever it takes to make it happen.
The years that have followed have been the best of my life.
Why? Because I followed through on that commitment to myself.
I am now in the best shape of my life.
I exercise every day. I run for 1.5-2.5 hours 4-5 times a
week with a long run on the weekends, which is over 3 hours.
I've run in numerous road races, placed in my age group and
also have run half and full marathons. I am currently training
for a 50-mile trail race! I have more strength and flexibility
than I've ever had. I've learned to fight back from injury,
eat healthy and fresh foods, juice, detoxify and most of all
love my body and take care of it like the temple it is.
In that same time, aside from the physical training, I've
read more books and listened to more tapes on fitness, personal
growth and well-being to fill a small library.
How did I learn to change people's lives? Plain and simple…
my own experience.
And this is what I offer you--personal experience, knowledge
and expertise. My role is to show you how you can take control
of your own life, just like I did with mine.
We'd like to Meet You!
