Be wary of the goal "To Look Better." Appearance goals don't give you tangible results every day. You'll can't look in the mirror after 2 days of hard workouts and say, "Wow, I look great!" It takes longer than that.

So when you want to improve your appearance, make sure you can find something measurable that will help you along everyday. Instead of looking at how your appearance has changed, judge your success by the amount of energy you've gained.

Hey Kevin!

I want to tell you that you've changed my life. Over the past couple of weeks I've really noticed how much my body, lifestyle and attitude has changed. I now exercise for at least an hour a day, 6 days a week (I bought a TON of Yoga, Pilates, Cardio and Strength DVD's and love them!!) and I really look forward to exercising. I get up and move as much as possible instead of sitting on my butt in front of the TV. I've also been eating REALLY well. I've added fish to my diet, I'm eating 10+ servings of fruits and veggies a day and I'm making better choices altogether. By doing this, I've cut out the junk food almost entirely and the best part is that I don't even miss it!!! I feel so good, so full of energy, I've been sleeping really well and waking up feeling refreshed (I haven't felt that way in a LONG time!) and that makes me want to keep on going. I'm also started to see my upper abs, which I've never seen in my life, and that also keeps me motivated. Your Lifestyle Fitness and Goal Setting program really helped to put me on the right track and everything that's happened in my life since then has contributed to my success. Kevin has helped me be more conscientious of what kind of foods I take in..and portion sizes, too. I have begun taking different vitamins and have learned how to make yummy breakfast shakes! I was not normally a breakfast person, however I now take the time to make sure that I take part in one of the days most important meals!

The goal setting at first was difficult for me. I had to make this collage and stuff and I felt like I was back in elementary school! HA! I finally did it and did understand why it was important to have your goals made visual and put them out right in front of you...so you don't miss 'em!

"Until I went to the first Lifestyle Fitness Class--I was not happy, since I refused to believe after years of getting a Ph.D. in Shape, Self, People, Marie Claire fitness articles, I could possibly learn something new.

Fast forward an hour and a few sweat glands later: I was wrong. There was plenty I didn't know. But that wasn't because I was never told, I just never wanted to believe that I was doing anything wrong. This is how I'm made, I tell myself. I'm from a big family. I'm doing the best that I can.

These were all comfort zones for me, and that's where you guys came in: you challenged those comfort zones without alienating me, or turning me off from the program. Sometimes, we just need to talk ourselves out of our own complacency. It's good to hear other people working out their issues too, because even if it's not about the same thing, we all have those moments in our lives when we don't really know if we should, but know that we have to.

I walked into the class as a nonbeliever, but with each class, I was more and more convinced that if I kept up with the exercisers, managed what went into my body, and reminded myself of where I wanted to be, I would get there. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next month, but eventually, I will reach my destination. I know it's entirely up to me, and I have good moments and bad moments. And sometimes I don't want to do all 100 Hindu Squats. But now there is that little Jimny Cricket (okay, so it's Kevin and Ann Marie...) saying, just a little bit, a little bit everyday, makes a big difference. And for once, I believe it.

Thanks so much for the class. I've taken more than you'll know out of it. I look at my collages every night (this time, no tears...) and I'm excited and thrilled that I've had the chance to spend a month focusing on what I want, physically and mentally. Kevin and Annmarie,

I followed your simple and fun exercises for the last month.  I added some floor stretches to start.  The whole routine starts off my morning by reaching for some exercises rather than some coffee.  I changed thyroid medication, have been eating very healthy food, stepped up the exercise and lost 8 lbs. in a month.  Thanks for making exercise fun and portable anywhere I go.

This (program) was very straightforward and easy to understand/follow. I liked the point system, because using minutes intimidates me, and I would never exercise. But if I think of it in terms of exercises or points, it's a lot easier to digest and to stick with the program.
